Do you think I should get my ears pierced?

I am a 20 year old guy, 6′8″, 175 pounds, white, very much a country boy, usually wear cowboy boots, Wrangler jeans, and wrangler button up shirt. I am thinking about getting both ears pierced, I don’t have any piercing or tattoo’s, but thought it might be nice to have my ears pierced. I always keep my haircut short, about 1/8 inch long, so what do ya’all think? What kind, rings, studs…
Also, how painful is it to get a piercing? And are they comfortable to wear or do they hurt? Do potential employers find it to be a turn off for a guy to have earrings?
Definitely not gauges, I hate them, and want to be able to look normal, not like a freak.
